Private  Pilot  License

  • Flying an Airplane is one of life's greatest experience, there is nothing else like it.

  • You are part of an elite group of individuals who have the knowledge and physical skills to be an Airplane Pilot.

  • Aviation Professionals Incorporated, also known as "API", is the only Flight School in Chicago and one of the oldest Flight Schools in the United States.

  •  Learning how to fly can be made easy if your instructor knows how to explaine things in simple terms.

  • For almost five decades, we have refined our training program so that it is one of the best in the world.

  • This is accomplished with our unique copyrighted method called Attitude Flying”.

  • Attitude Flying is achieved by having the student sit in the pilot’s seat while observing specific exterior parts of the airplane and those visual relationships to either the horizon, ground or runway. These relationships instantly informs the pilot about altitude, bank, coordination and airspeed control.

  • Our training saves you money, time, and frustration while making you a more knowledgeable, responsive, efficient and safe pilot.

  • The FAA states you must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the English Language.

  • Over 30 years ago, the “FAA”, Federal Aviation Administration, created regulations about flight hours, knowledge and skills levels to become a Private Pilot.

  • After the terrorist attack of September 11, 2001, the FAA had to review their thinking.  Flight schools were being blamed for teaching the terriest how to fly, which was not the truth.

  • The FAA regulation stayed the same, but the knowledge and skill level demanded by eash person was raised.

  • The national average is now over 8O hours of flight timeAPI’s training is designed so you are able to acquire your Private pilot certificate with less flight hours then the national average.

  • To obtain your Private Pilot Certificate, you must pass a FAA flight physical, knowledge exam, oral exam and flight exam.

  • The FAA states that before an individual is allowed to fly on airplane by themselves, they must obtain an FAA Flight Physical from an approved Medical Examiner.

  • The medical examiner has concerns that deal with Diabetes, Epilepsy, Heart Disease, history of Kidney Stones, history of Drug or Alcohol Abuse, Emotional or Mental Disorders, Vision Problems, Certain Levels of Hearing Loss, High Blood Pressure, or other condition that could impair your ability to fly an aircraft safely.

  • You can start flight training before getting your FAA Flight Physical but you can not fly by yourself solo until you do.

  • Training can be accelerated weather permitting.

  • On API’s staff is the 2020 Flight Instructor of the Year for the Great Lakes Area.

  • API has one of the best safety records in the industry and one of the highest ratings with the Better Business Bureau.

  • You only pay for each lesson as you take it.  There are no contracts to sign or dues to be paid.
